The feedback I've heard on the improvements we’ve made in Langford’s downtown core on Goldstream Avenue between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Bryn Maur Road has been great. The area is more family oriented, and more pedestrian and cyclist friendly. Residents and tourists will appreciate the new information kiosks and benches we’re adding as well.
One of the projects Langford Council is looking at is more improvements on Peatt Road.We're adding a sidewalk, bike lane and marked parellel parking. Beautifying the downtown core and making the area safer has been a long-term objective, and I’m looking forward to continuing efforts in that direction in the near future. A key part of our vision for Goldstream Village is to provide our residents with a vibrant, green, pedestrian and cylcist friendly downtown core.

- Mayor Stewart Young grew up and attended school in Langford and is now a local business owner. Mayor Young was a Councillor when Langford was first incorporated in 1992. Mayor Young was elected Mayor in December 1993, and has been declared Mayor in the following six elections.
