Rugby Games Draw a Record Crowd

It was just great to share in the excitement of the fans that packed the stands for the Americas Rugby Championship games. The tournament was a huge success on many levels, and I’m sure Langford made a lasting positive impression on Rugby Canada, the International Rugby Board and the players and coaches from the U.S., Argentina and Uruguay. It was also a great opportunity to showcase our first class recreational facilities to an international audience, and promote the growing popularity of rugby throughout the region. Considering the record crowds, parking and congestion in the area around Langford City Centre Park, our residents and local businesses did an amazing job of welcoming the players, and supporting the games enthusiastically. We all should be very proud of what we accomplished on the pitch and throughout the community.
